What curriculum does C.O.P. use?
Every classroom at Children’s Outreach Project follows a developmentally appropriate model called Creative Curriculum. The philosophy, techniques, and assessment outlined by Creative Curriculum are specifically designed to address the development of children in a preschool/kindergarten setting. See Creative Curriculum on the Programs and Services page for more information.

What is C.O.P.’s discipline policy?
Discipline is child management. It is an ongoing process of assisting each child to develop self-control and self-esteem. We recognize that positive discipline helps children learn self-control and encourages the development of a child’s self-esteem. The most widely used method of discipline at C.O.P. is redirection.

When necessary, children are given a time out period of one minute for each year of the child’s age, or less. If our methods do not seem to be effective and the behavior continues, a meeting will be set up with the child’s parents or guardians. If you have concerns regarding behavior management, we urge you to first talk with your child’s teacher and then with the director. For more information, please refer to the Parent Handbook.
