Lori Ann Garcia,
mother of two C.O.P. students, shares her personal story
and the relief she felt after finding and enrolling her
children. Her oldest son has a condition referred to as
sensory processing disorder, causing problems with not
only motor skills, but social and emotional skills, as
well. The unique needs of a child with this condition sometimes
leads to expulsion from typical programs. |

Executive Director, Stephanie Baer shares what Children’s Outreach Project means to her and shares one family’s experience with C.O.P. Stephanie outlines her background, as well as some of C.O.P.’s current goals and projects. |

The Junior League of Denver (JLD) is committed to helping foster parent/child relationships at Children’s Outreach Project. During both the 2006-07 and 2007-08 school years, JLD volunteers have run the Kids Connect program at C.O.P., encouraging parents to become active participants in their children’s education through early brain development activities. Activities and dinner are hosted twice each month during the school year and families must commit to attending all sessions to participate. The average number of families enrolled is 15. Parents are encouraged to bring all of their children, regardless of where they are enrolled in school. |

The Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County (ECPAC) was founded in 2004 to enhance quality early childhood development opportunities. ECPAC also focuses on health, mental health, parent education and family support within the community. The Foundation applied for, and received federal funding in 2005 to assist them in these efforts. |
